Photography Talk Series

Speaker: Mr. Kim Hak and Coordinator: Ms.Lim Sokchanlina

The first edition of a series of discussion on the theme of photography, organized by Lim Sokchanlina in partnership with Bophana. Born in Battambang city, Kim Hak is a full-time photographer working on storytelling and artistic aesthetics. He focuses on different themes: KR survivors’ stories, the funeral of King Sihanouk, architecture, etc. His work was featured at many art festivals: in Victoria, Paris, Lille, Nottingham, Bratislava, Singapore, Bankok, Yangon, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. As for photographs, his exhibitions were organized in Australia, France, Great Britain, Netherlands, Slovakia, United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Burma and Cambodia.

In 2011, Hak won the photography Residencies Program prize of Musée du Quai Branly in Paris and also the second prize of Stream Photo Asia in Bangkok. In 2012, he was designated as the Best Artist of Phnom Penh in the local reviewThe Advisor.
