Making a financial contribution to the Audiovisual Resource Center is essential to settle its activities in a long term development program.

Projects which require special financing are:

1. Strengthening the competence of the staff (95% are Cambodians) Since its opening in 2006, the Bophana Center has trained more than 100 of Cambodians in : the cinema industry (filmmakers, cameramen, perchmen, designers …), the audiovisual archive growing sector (archivist, translators, knowledge in restauration, digitization…) and Management (70% of the Bophana Center Managers are Cambodian). Help us to build bridges between experts and Young Cambodian People willing to learn.

2. The search for foreign collections of archives concerning Cambodia and their treatment. The Bophana Center has gathered in four years thousands of audiovisual archives: only 2 000 by more than 10 000 are available through our database. The Center needs more experts to digitize all the documents received! Support the Center to help reviving the memory of Cambodia.

3. The setting up and production of programs of events to disseminate the audiovisual archives collected to a maximum of public, especially the Youth. Mobile Screenings throughout the country, exhibition, Animation of the screening room, workshops about how to read an image…etc. All these activities are essential to arouse the interest of the Cambodian population who either experienced trauma and cannot talk about their past or are too young to know about their history and had not had the occasion to see any “proofs” of what their historical and cultural heritage is. Help us to allow a free access to their past , all over the country.
