The Bophana Audiovisual Resource Center is a place where the public can consult a lot of archives that deals with Cambodia. The Center presents more than 3000 archives that have been collected since 2006. They are classified in the Center Hanuman database and every visitor can consult them from a station provided by the Center. The archives are videos, pictures, and audio recordings. Different themes are presented: news, culture, history, geography, politic, economy, environment, society, science and technology, education, rights and justice… The audiovisual archives collected include dramas, documentaries, reports, television news, radio news or comic strips. These documents come from television channels, radio stations, independent producers, institutional organism (like ministries or NGOs) and privates. Agreements have been made with those beneficiaries so that the documents could be provided freely to the public and remain within the law at the same time. Also, the Center produces its own documents and makes them available to the public.
The videos
Videos are mainly in French, in Cambodian and in English. Most of them are dubbed in Cambodian or subtitled in French and in English. They are in color or in black and white, and among them some are silent or sound archives. More than 10 000 photographic printings are classifies in the Center Data base. Those pictures are mainly related to the Protectorate era, the war, the architecture, the daily life, the revolution, the art and the culture, the temples…
