The Continuum, Beyond the Killing Fields
Directed by Ong Keng Sen, 2010, 110min, Khmer version and English subtitle
The Continuum: Beyond The Killing Fields tells the real-life story of Em Theay, a master of Cambodia’s royal classical dance. During the Pol Pot regime, nine out of ten artists were killed. Master Em Theay was the only one to survive this brutal period, which claimed countless other lives. She endured the trauma of that era and went on to teach her skills to the national troupe, contributing to the rebuilding of Cambodia’s society and culture.
