World Cancer Day 2023

World Cancer Day is an international day dedicated to cancer prevention, detection, anti-stigma and treatment. It is organized every February 4 every year. The World Cancer Day, reminds that much remains to be done to fight against the disease, first cause of death in men and second in women.

Objectives of this World Cancer Day

Through this World Cancer Day, we wish to raise awareness among the population and governmental and international institutions on the issue of cancer in Cambodia. As well as on the medical and psychological care of people at the end of life in order to promote the dynamics of care aimed at reducing pain and difficult symptoms for patients at the end of life.

Event Description

To mark February 4 in 2023, Pain Without Borders will create a photo exhibit of 4 cancer patients portraits who are followed at home by our medical-psychological teams. The professional photographer Miguel Lopes Jeronimo took many pictures during our interventions at the patients’ homes and in the hospitals of Phnom Penh.

  • Screening of a documentary on Palliative Care in Asia.
  • The exhibition will take place at the Bophana Center in Phnom Penh for 7 days following the opening of the exhibition.
