Phay Thi is a Tampuan Indigenous woman, she is married and has four children. To make a living, she works as a farmer. Additionally, she cuts bamboo trees to turn them into equipment needed to dry rice and fish. This equipment she not only uses herself but also sells to earn some extra money. She explains: “Even though it becomes more and more difficcult to find bamboo trees, I will still continue this work until the day I die – it is what I know. For the future, I wish that the next generations will preserve and remember this skill, and that they protect the forest from being cut down.”
