The body of the text: Ritual tattoos of Cambodia

On the occasion of its recent restoration by the technicians of the Bophana​ Center, Mr. Olivier de Bernon will present the film: The body of the text: Ritual tattoos of Cambodia co-directed with Olivier Delpoux in 1997.

Cambodia tattoos are texts. Their graphic composition, the spectacular rituals that accompany their completion, and the power attributed to them illustrate a completely original vision of Buddhism specific to Southeast Asia.

Founded by film director Rithy Panh, Bophana Center collects every archive images and sounds on Cambodia, and it offers free public access to this unique heritage. Bophana Center also trains young Cambodians for careers in filmmaking, broadcasting and new media. The goal is to open their mind to artistic creation and foster a personal cultural production.
