More than a million Cambodians lost their lives under the Khmer Rouge regime of Democratic Kampuchea between 1975 and 1979. January 7, 1979 was the day the Cambodian people escaped death and the nation came back to life from scratch.

Founded by film director Rithy Panh, Bophana Center collects every archive images and sounds on Cambodia, and it offers free public access to this unique heritage. Bophana Center also trains young Cambodians for careers in filmmaking, broadcasting and new media. The goal is to open their mind to artistic creation and foster a personal cultural production.

ARPAA has a zero-tolerance policy on conduct that is incompatible with the aims and objectives of the United Nations and ARPAA, including sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, abuse of authority and discrimination. ARPAA also adheres to strict child safeguarding principles.
