Kbal Neakta, the Head of our Ancestors
Directed by Bruno Carette, 2005, 67 minutes, Khmer Version
Angkor stands as one of Cambodia’s most iconic landmarks and a symbol of its rich cultural heritage. Yet, decades of civil war and human activity have caused significant damage to these sacred temples. Many sculptures have been looted heads of Buddha, Apsaras, and Garudas cut and taken away.
Through a poetic approach, this documentary explores the perspectives of Cambodian people, reflecting on the loss of these ancestral treasures and the deep emotional impact it continues to hold today.
