This documentary shows the first collaboration between two survivors of the Pol Pot era, Him Sophy and Rithy Panh, in memory of the nearly 2 million Cambodians who died during the Khmer Rouge regime. Bangsokol ceremonies in Buddhism were introduced, as it was understood that this allowed the dead to go forward and live on a new planet.
