Work, Food, and Survival
Produced by Bophana Center, 2025, 62min, Khmer version with English subtitles
These documentary films are the work of trainees who studied documentary filmmaking at the Bophana Center under the project ‘Training Tomorrow’s Film Directors and Promoting Exchange and Archival Development through Cambodia’s Filmmaking’ in 2024, implemented by the Bophana Audiovisual Resource Center and supported by a grant from the Henry Luce Foundation.
The films explore the close relationship between labor, the environment, and survival. Through stories of farmers, vendors, and workers adapting to economic and environmental pressures, they reveal how people navigate uncertainty. Rooted in everyday life, these narratives emphasize adaptability, endurance, and the continuous effort to build a better future.
