Khmer People in the Hard Time
Photographed by Senee Mongkol, organized by Photo Phnom Penh Association
From October 24 until November 23
Unknown photographs of a Khmer Rouge camp and of the refugee’s camp of Khmer people in Thailand, around 1980, by Thai photographer Senee Mongkol show a deep interest and commitment to the people. The photographer, who died at the age of 33 in 1986 did those photos for himself, by interest and dedication. They have been modified with time, due to the bad conditions of conservation but it gives a new aesthetic to those historical images shown for the first time.
