To celebrate the publication of the edited volume Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum: A Multifaceted History of Khmer Rouge Crimes (Brill, 2024), the book’s editors Stéphanie Benzaquen-Gautier and Anne-Laure Porée propose to expand on some of the chapters through Bophana Center’s visual archives. With a selected set of archival footage from the period 1979-1982, they will revisit the birth of the museum. Furthermore, they will link this history to the new sources and methodologies discussed in the other chapters of the book.
