His Majesty King Norodom Sihanouk and his wife paid a royal visit to the French Republic with a warm welcome from senior French officials. At the Elysée Presidential Palace, President Jacques Chirac and his wife received a courtesy visit from King Norodom Sihanouk, in the presence of a number of senior French officials. The next day, His Majesty King Norodom Sihanouk went to court and met with officials and leaders of the City of Paris and people from the Cambodian community in France. Subsequently, His Majesty King Norodom Sihanouk met French Prime Minister Alain Juppé and visited the Senate of France and other important places.
