The Artist Talk of Kep Tomer

SA SA BASSAC is pleased to welcome the Artist Talk of Kep Tomer, a Cambodian-Israeli photographer based in Tel Aviv, at Bophana Center.
KEP Tomer is a Cambodian-Israeli artist born in Jerusalem in 1978 and based in Tel Aviv today. His photographic pratice is meticulous in composition
and approaches subjects relating to his family history, thus identity and questions of belonging, place and home are central. He honors early photographic traditions including black and white films, analog cameras, and chemical printing processes.

Kep is currently in Phnom Penh after two weeks of travels and family visits with his father around other parts of Cambodia. He is a guest of SA SA BASSAC, in collaboration with Bophana and L’Atelier Argentique after connecting with curator Erin Gleeson during her Artis Research Residency in Israel in October 2014.
