July 8, 2022 marks the fifth anniversary of the inscription of SamborPreiKuk as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bophana Center would like to present two short documentaries produced by the Cinema and Cultural Diffusion Department on this amazing heritage site.
1. The Sambor Prei Kuk Monument

The most remarkable capital attributed to the Chenla Kingdom is Isanapura, known today as Sambor Prei Kuk, established in the 6th-7th century. It’s in the village and commune of Sambor, district of Prasat Sambor and Kampong Thom province. It was also a center of political, social and cultural power.
2. The restoration of the historic site of Sambor Prei Kuk

The interdepartmental committee led by his excellency Pen Yet from the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, along with the governor of Kompong Thom province and representatives from University of Waseda, UNESCO, WPF and local ministers made a meeting on the restoration and the laying out of cultural site of Sambor Prei Kuk or Isanapura.
