During the Lon Nol regime, Mrs. Vann Ki worked in the fields as usual with her parents. By the time the Khmer Rouge entered, she was forced to work hard, like digging canals, harvesting rice, and transplanting. Even though she didn’t eat enough, she still worked hard because of fear of being killed. Because she was doing a good job, she was assigned to be a team leader controlling 30 people. She had never been abused by anyone because of her hard work.
