Based on a story by Manto, ‘Antareen’ is the story of a young writer who is seeking inspiration and is living alone an old country mansion of friend in Calcutta. He gets into a telephonic conversation with a woman caller, all alone in her large urban flat. She is the mistress of a wealthy man. Her life gives the writer material for his work. The two meet in a train where on hearing his voice,the woman has a moment of recognition.
