Guest speaker: Dr Ang Chaulean
When used to conceive the divine under an anthropomorphic idol, a Khmer can be struck by the absence of any material representation among the ethnic peoples of the north-east of Cambodia. Then, considering attentively some types of spirits among the Khmer themselves, one realizes that, they also participate to some kind of abstract representation, although in a lesser degree.
