HAM RONG performed by the orchestra of Peang Lvea

Bophana Center is pleased to share you a rare music archive “Ham Rong” performed by the orchestra of Peang Lvea, and recorded by Jacques Brunet in 1967-1968.

This melody is played when the bride and bridegroom arrive at the shelter specially erected for the bridal couple. The orchestra is conducted by the master Srey Yim, who also sings and plays Sadeav. Other musical instruments include: Tro Khmer played by Keo Phuong, Pey ar played by Siem Nhuong, Chapey played by Yim Ya, Skor arakh played by Kang Kuy.
