Pey Pok music performed by Mr. Nol Mech in 1972

Bophana Center would like to present another rare archive, “Pey Pok” music performed by Mr. Nol Mech in 1972, to all beloved audiences.

This instrument is played in the Arak music orchestra as an essential instrument for offering to the teacher’s spirits or inviting the teacher’s soul. As for the wedding orchestra, it is also an instrument that has a role to play in the ceremony of inviting the spirits of the parents or ancestors who have passed away. On the other hand, before catching an elephant, the hunter can also use the Pey Pok to flute instead of the horns.

This is according to “Cambodian Music” written by Mrs. Keo Narom, 2005.
