This exceptional film-portrait retraces the path of Duch, from his debut as a bright student, then his career as a mathematics teacher, until his appearance before the international trial tribunal in 2009. The documentary tries to understand how this discreet and studious young man became the devoted executioner who committed some of the most horrible crimes in human history.
