The first films of the “Amplifying Voice for Indigenous Women and Discriminated Groups” project

The Bophana Center is carrying out a training course on documentary filmmaking, involving 12 participants. Most of them come from indigenous communities in Cambodia and never gained any experience in filmmaking before. Within the five-month training and under the guidance of experts, the trainees, finally, have finished their first documentaries.

All trainees have made a great effort to write stories, to shoot videos around Phnom Penh, and to edit the produced footage by themselves. How good are their first achievements? Let’s find out together on May 31st!

After achieving their first films, all trainees will travel to the indigenous communities where they live to continue their mission of making new documentaries.

This training course is supported by VOICE, through Oxfam in Cambodia, the Australian Embassy in Cambodia, and Heinrich Böll Stiftung, in collaboration with Cambodia Film Commission.
