During the Khmer Rouge era, Mr. Chea Sophon was ordered by the Khmer Rouge to work in the fields and later climb palm trees. He often changed jobs because the Khmer Rouge did not trust him. During that time, three of his siblings were killed by the Khmer Rouge. After the end of the Pol Pot regime, he got married and brought goods from Tây Ninh to sell in the districts, and later he became the principal of a primary school.
