Promoting human rights, for everyone always comes with the challenge of choosing effective approaches. Music is a popular medium that captures the imagination of a large portion of our population and is approached by all kinds and levels of society. In 2010, UNOHCHR is proud to partner with Bophana Center and local artists in Cambodia in creating some songs for human rights. This music album comes with three distinct songs, ranging from traditional Khmer to modern rock and roll, but they all share a common purpose - to draw our attention to the importance of human rights in our daily lives.

In this CD, well-known musicians master Kong Nay and the Cambodian Space Project will take you on a musical journey of knowing your fundamental rights as stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of recognizing the equal rights of women and men and of freely expressing one’s view with respect to other people’s opinions.

We hope that this album will not only bring you listening pleasure but also - and most importantly – raise a consciousness that promoting and protecting your human rights is a shard responsibility.
